Brad Garrett’s mother Barbara is a homemaker and his father Al Gerstenfeld, is a hearing aid salesman. He has two elder brothers named Paul and Jeff. Brad enrolled in the Hale Junior High School, Woodland Hills, California and he graduated from El Camino Real High School. Later, he attended UCLA but dropped out to pursue his acting career.

At 23, he got his first role in ‘The Tonight Show’, a comedy show and this role made him a familiar face among the national audience. After making a huge success in stand-up comedy, he turned towards TV and voiced the wrestling legend ‘Hulk Hogan’ for a short living cartoon series ‘Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n Wrestling’. In 1987, he appeared in a game show ‘Super Password’, for a week. Next, he appeared on a short lived summer comedy ‘First Impressions’ and in ‘Roseanne’. In ‘Pursuit of Happiness (NBC)’, he appeared as hero’s gay best friend. He’s also seen in a very famous comedy ‘Everyone loves Raymond’ as Ray Romano’s brother Robert Romano. He has got five Emmy nominations for his role as Robert.

His incredible voice made him to voice various animated characters on several series such as ‘Mighty Ducks: The Animated Series’, ‘2 Stupid Dogs’, ‘Project Geeker’, ‘A Bug’s Life’, ‘Asterix and the Vikings’, ‘Justice League Unlimited’, ‘Finding Nemo’ etc.

In 2003, he was again nominated for Emmy award as the Outstanding Lead Actor in Miniseries. In the same year, he won Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a comedy series. Brad played in 2005, 2006 and 2007 ‘World Series of Poker’ and is the winner of the fifth season championship of ‘Celebrity Poker Showdown’.

In the revival of ‘The Odd Couple’, he played Murray, the Cop. In the fall of 2008, he’ll be back as an actor and the executive producer of a new show ‘Dating Brad Garrett’, an online reality show. He has appeared in several movies and TV shows as well.

In 1998, he married Jill Diven and has two children with her, a son named Maxwell Bradley Garrett and a daughter, Hope Violet Garrett. They broke up in 2005 and have filed a divorce case to get separated legally. He’s a Jew and is 6 feet 8-1/2 inches tall.

Role in Til Death

In ‘Til Death’, he portrays Eddie who’s Joy’s husband. Eddie is over confident about himself and thinks that he’s always correct. He’s a history teacher, so, has a sound knowledge of the subject. He has his own type of friends and he normally hangs out with them. His wife complaints about him, and he about her, but still their hearts beat for each other.
